1
Corinthians 11: 26-28
For as often as ye shall eat this bread, and drink
the cup, ye announce the death of the Lord, until
he come. So that whosever shall eat the bread, or
drink the cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be
guilty in respect of the body and of the blood of
the Lord.
But let a man prove himself, and thus eat of the
bread, and drink of the cup.
Matthew 26:26-28
And as they were eating, Jesus, having taken the
bread and blessed, broke it and gave it to the disciples,
and said, Take, eat: this is my body. And having
taken the cup, and given thanks, he gave it to them,
saying, Drink ye all of it. For this is my blood,
that of the new covenant, that shed for many for
remission of sins.

Holy
Communion
Generally
known as communion, it is the centre of
Exclusive Brethren
life. Celebrated every Sunday, it holds them together
in the bond of Christian fellowship and in committal
to the Lord Jesus Christ and to one another.
In keeping with 1 Corinthians 11:26-28, a man
is called on to prove himself, and partake
of the bread and cup. Those with whom they take
the Supper, define their social boundaries. Their
children receive the Supper on the basis of Jesus'
words: "Take, eat; this is my body"
Matthew 26:26-28
The
hymn book is used extensively at the Lord's Supper
and includes hymns by John Nelson Darby, Charles Wesley , Augustus Toplady,
William Cowper, John Newton , Isaac Watts and others.
